Happy Holy Week, Friends! What’s getting you through? For me, it’s cold brew coffee, poetry, and some help from the grandparents! Remember to take some one, three, or five minute mini sabbaths as you need to!
Very Last Minute Easter Moment with Children — Three great ideas HERE to jumpstart your brain if you’re still thinking about it, though COVID modifications would be needed. I think you could also use the EASTER PRAYER from Prayers for Faithful Familiesas a launching pad to a great message.
Beautiful Downloadable Art and Gifts from Silver Tree Art — I recently downloaded THIS piece and THIS one for myself and ordered THIS print for a friend. I also love THIS sticker and THIS one, too, and… I’ll just stop now and you can browse the whole shop! The artist, Suzanne, is a kind friend, and her talent makes my jaw drop. (Also, her actual handwriting looks like art.) As for ministry uses, the stickers and buttons are great for backpack blessings if you’re in to planning ahead. (Or just get yourself a gift this Holy Week. :)
Pandemic Era Faith Formation — Had fun shooting the breeze with Dave Csinos, Mary Nichol, and Steven Argue about pandemic era faith formation, hosted by the Atlantic School of Theology. Audio is HERE and HERE. (I haven’t listened to all of this, but I think Dave edited out the some of the awkward silences stemming from polite Canadians wanting other people to talk first! Hilarious!)
The Sandbox Revolution — Happy Book Birthday to THE SANDBOX REVOLUTION: Raising Kids for a Just World. The back of the book description says this: “The Sandbox Revolution calls upon our collective wisdom to wrestle with the questions, navigate the challenges, offer concrete practices, and remind parents of the sacredness of the work. Written by parents who are also writers, pastors, teachers, organizers, artists, gardeners, and activists, this anthology offers a diversity of voices and experiences on topics that include education, money, anti-racism, resistance, spirituality, disability justice, and earth care .” I am particularly taken by the STUDY GUIDE which has thoughtful questions and activities for group discussion or individual reflection.
Enjoy the Treasures,
