Greetings from Logan Airport! It’s been a very busy few weeks and about to get busier! So many treasures this week that I had to save a few for next week.
A Very Special Request: My assistant Kaleigh (who is a truly magic person and does more in one hour than most people do in a day) has a very special requests for a child in her life. If you can help, please do, not just for this child, but for every child who could use a bone marrow transplant. I’ve aged out of this, but was a registered donor for decades. See Kaleigh’s request here: Tiago is a 3-year-old boy who loves trucks, dinosaurs, and his baby sister Luna. He also has a rare form of lymphoma and needs a bone marrow transplant. Could you be his match and save his life? If you are between the ages of 18-40 would you consider getting tested? Check out more information from Be The Match HERE.
Awesome Resource of Links: I’m not just saying this because a Faithful Families resource is linked (but I’m not mad about that either, ha!), but check out this amazing resource from Suzanne Parker Miller! HERE it is!
#NerdAlert — I just presented a paper on APPRECIATIVE INQUIRY at the ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT. Too much to go into right now, but I wanted to share because you just never know where ministry will lead… I learned about Appreciative Inquiry from a local professor who reached out to me because he had heard we were doing great things in the community and he wanted to help. Out of that call, the congregation received a lot of (free!) consulting and I got to learn so much. I’ve met some amazing people who are hungry to hear about the good work churches are doing in the world. Truly inspirational.
Old Friends — (As in friends you’ve had for a long time) — Although, I guess we are getting old in the other sense, too! When I was in Boston I had the opportunity to connect with my good friend Heather who is the co-owner of PROGRESSIVE PILGRIMAGE a global travel company that provides custom group trips to the Holy Land, Scotland, and more. I would love to do a custom trip to France with my Treasure Box Tuesday people sometime. Would that not be amazing? I encourage you to visit Progressive Pilgrimage and sign up for their (not at all spammy) emails to learn about the trips they have coming up.
Host with the Most — I can not recommend staying with a professional hospitality expert enough :) When I stayed with Heather, (see link above!) she gave me a custom tour of Lowell, MA, which has an absolutely fascinating HISTORY and is home to an urban National Park. She also fed me this SELTZER (the Coconut one) and THIS YOGURT, both of which I’ve never had before. Oh yeah, she prepared me a not-too-sweet-mocktail with pear juice. Can’t give you the recipe because she made it up. See what I mean? Professional. Hospitality. Expert. She applies these skills to large groups travelling the world, too. Amazing.
Enjoy the Treasures, My friends!
